How to Become Involved in Aristasia
A guide to taking your first steps.

Welcome to Aristasia.

You may be very new, or you may have been browsing for a few weeks - or even longer. Pettes move at different paces.

However that may be, you are now ready to make the next move. You want to meet some real live Aristasians, ask some questions perhaps, see what kind of maidens we are and have a taste of Aristasian life on-line.

The first thing to understand is that Aristasian life on-line is Aristasian life. It is not a role-play or a digital game. You will be meeting real maidens who are, to varying degrees, involved in and committed to Aristasia. Some will live in Aristasian households outside Elektraspace. Some will participate only through electronic media - and some of these may be among the most committed.

Whether participation is through physical contact or electronic "virtuality" is a matter of no importance whatever. These are simply different means of a) meeting and communicating, b) creating and defining our reality, and c) serving the Motherland. Whether we use houses or ordinator screens as meeting-places is of as little import as whether we use houses or cafés. And in all cases the same standards of courtesy, honour and morality apply.

Before you continue, we advise that you read our guide to comportment in Aristasia-in-Elektra.

The Aristasia Forums and Common Room

The Aristasia Forums are the main discussion fora and notice-boards of Aristasia in Elektraspace. They are not "real time" and you need to register in order to participate, though you may read freely (in all non-restricted fora) without becoming a member. It is recommended that you bookmark the Common Room as this is the place from which you can see all recently updated threads on all fora at once as well as the Common Room's own conversations and most other Aristasian-related sites.

Once you have registered an account, you may post comments and questions of your own. This is a very good place to raise questions as they will often start a discussion, giving a variety of Aristasian points of view.

It is also a very good place to make your earliest contributions and establish your identity as part of the community.

Sai Thamë College

Sai Thamë College is not simply an educational institution. It is a Lay College, which means that it is a home and a community to its scholars. Its academic requirements are minimal unless you wish them to be greater in your case.

The College is currently the primary community for Aristasians in Elektraspace. Once you have moved beyond the "initial enquiry" stage and wish to become part of the community you must take the "Aristasia 101" course which will instruct you in the fundamental knowledge and etiquette required for participation in Aristasian Life.

This course will prepare you for the College Entrance Examination, and if you pass this and are accepted at interview, you will become a scholar of the college and a junior-level member of the Aristasian elektra-community.

Aristasia in Virtualia

Virtual Reality is an increasing area of Aristasian deployment. Currently we are using the popular Second Life grid for this purpose. Again the difference between "Virtual Life" and "Real Life", much touted by the "official" Tellurian Voice and its endless echoes (because it wishes to maintain its monopoly over reality-definition), is meaningless.

We have a College in Virtualia, which is a real College where real maidens learn real things and live and work together in a variety of ways. Evenings are sometimes spent together in the College Common Room with voice enabled, telling stories and singing songs. This is a real community using electronic means to bridge its global separation.

The main Aristasian area is closed to Outlanders and can be entered by invitation only. Invitations are issued to those who have already established their Aristasian credibility, usually through the White Rose Room and the Fora. Once you have been accepted as a scholar of the College you will have free access to the College area.

We do maintain an Embassy in Virtualia which is open to visitors. However, it is often unstaffed and meetings there are normally by arrangement. Your early contacts will normally be made through the White Rose Room, but if you have an avatar in Second Life, you may send an IM to Sushuri Madonna (the Embassy Hostess) requesting an interview.
