Quote:
Devon, which is in South West England, has an abundance of Primroses. They are very much a part of the distinctive character of the county in spring, forming wonderful displays on the local Devon Hedgebanks. Primroses favour damp places, which abound here in the warmer, wetter climate of the southwest of England. Hedgebanks, woods, road-side verges, railway embankments and churchyards are all good places to look for them

Here in my front lawn I have the priviledge of my own primrose, you are not permitted to dig these up from the banks~ so I am truly blessed!!

Primroses are native to Britain and Europe.

Will add another close up soon!

This plant was given to me when it was quite small. I had no idea how big it would grow or how beautiful the flower would bloom. It is in a large pot.

Just one lonely flower so far!

I recently took this cutting from my blonde parents' garden.

These flowers are absolutely gorgeous, dear Miss Pheobe!
I'd like to show my rhododendron and azalea

the rhododendron has a quick blooming. The azalea is still small...

Aw...it says the pictures have been deleted. Such a pity. Oh and Miss Violet I adore your rhododendron. I love this plant but my balcony has too much sun for them. My mother has a perfect lilac one I gave her for mother's day several years ago. The university I went to was built on an estate in what used to be a forest. There were rhododendron bushes under the trees all over campus. They are such beautiful plants.
