Perfect stockings ranked 11th, here! That seems really rather good, considering perfect-stockings.com was #1.

Alexa ia updating a bit more efficiently now!

We are currently standing at 2,755,907.

We have moved up a massive 5,901.983 places in our first 19 days.

Well done indeed everyone!

(We are still being crippled by our lack of time in the rankings remember - we are on our way UP!)

The statistics for the month of June are now in.

For the 20 days we were in existence we had:

925 total visits

394 unique visitors

2843 pages viewed.

How about that then?

That means our average visitor goes to just over 7 pages. That is a VERY sticky site. That is good.

Today is our 3 week birthday. I wonder what will happen today.

Check here tomorrow and I'll tell you!

I found Miss Adele's perfect stockings at the 8th place today. Best search result so far for this keyword.

That is marvelous, Fraulein.

And it is set to be duplicated by other pages too very soon. Google has identified and listed a LOT more of our pages now. I shall add a full list a little later but it is marvelous that our pages are being recognized by Google in ever greater numbers. This is how to develop organic search engine traffic.

When traffic is generated 'organically' it is;

1. Free - That is to say we have no need to pay to advertise the site

and

2. Highly targeted - That is to say the people who visit us are looking for something quite specific - they come to one of our pages and they find not only what they were looking for but also lots of other things that they are also interested in reading. They are relevant visitors in other words rather than purely random ones.

There is a saying to the effect that "No news is good news". But in our case it seems at the moment that all the news is good news!

Congratulations girls - and well done again.

Alexa made another small adjustment to our ranking today.

We now stand at 2.095,031

We are Very close to the top 2% now - I expect to be there before next weekend at the latest.

But I promised you I'd let you all see our updated keyword report. Well here it is:

So you can see that Google recognizes our existence for most of our older keywords and is even giving us top 30 billing for some of them.

Take the results away and play with them at your leisure. Then write some more pages for us! We have passed the 50 pages mark but we need to press on towards the 200 pages mark to see really substantial traffic generation.

We can do it ladies.

Rayati for now.

Our little friends at Alexa have been crunching numbers again.

They have now crunched our number up to 1,732,208.

Our little baby site is now in the top 2% of elektrasites in the world for traffic/page view ratios.

And this is STILL only our first month.

More pages please!

Specifically, I wonder whether Miss Yu might consider taking a tiny break from tea and moving very temporarily over to "how to make a circle skirt" for the 1950s section? I know it is a long time since you mentioned it darling, but is the offer still open?

And everybody else, pages are now being solicited again on hair, shoes, fashions, clothes, designers, fads, etiquette, music and anything else you feel inclined to write.

Thank you ladies.

And well done again.

Rayati, Miss Wardelle,

I worked on another page for most of last night, and should have it ready for you by the end of today. I had a feeling it should be close to that time!

Miss Yu, Miss Moxie - Thank you darlings.

I have received the new hair page all safe and sound. I shall post it as soon as I have found some bits of decoration for it!

And I am looking forward to finding out all about those circle skirts.

Are there any others who might pop me something soon?

Fraulein, I was wondering whether we might have a 1940s "history" section? Or perhaps a "Words from the War" section where we could have lots of first hand accounts of things. Let me know what you think best darling. We shall have to have a Tier two page to unite all those bits very soon so we ought to choose our theme and then start searching for the right keyword for it.

Rayati for now.

Miss Wardelle,

The "Make Do and Mend" theme was very popular during the early part of the 40s -- it might make for a good Tier 2 theme for a series of articles. For instance, I ran across a couple of bath tips while researching 1940s hair that I thought might make for a good "Make Do and Mend: Glamour Come What May" article.

Of course, Madame Rustique might have more insight on the subject, but if you'd like a quick blog-type article for the moment I could whip something up this weekend.

Dear Miss Moxie,

The make do and mend theme is probably a timeless one so yes, it might be best kept in its own category. I shall give some thought to the best place to put it. Thank you for the suggestion. As it happens I was thinking of adding a page on the subject myself about Miss Sew-and-sew, the Kadorian poster girl for the make do and mend idea.

Please whip up as many posts of any type or length as you wish. I shall be delighted to have them.

As a general guide for anyone in this situation:

If you think your information would make a good blog post, just go ahead and write and don't worry about keywords. If the information would make a better page, please send me a short outline of the contents and I shall send you a keyword back as soon as possible.

If you are unsure of whether you are making a blog post or a page, please assume it will be a blog post and, after it has been posted, we can ask for comments and replies. Eventually, we ought to be able to turn the whole thing into a good permanent page.

Thank you again.

Saturday Mornings are a lovey time for me. They are the one time in the weeks when I am fairly confident that the old slow coaches at Alexa will have pulled their finger out and refreshed our site ranking.

This morning is Saturday Morning.

It is another lovely morning.

Alexa have pulled out fingers very nicely.

Our new ranking is: 1,632,209

Really, the nice people at Alexa are treating us moderately well. Should we offer them a ranking in return?

If you wish to see the ranking for yourself, it is displayed on the homepage of the site.

http://www.1920s-to-1950s-fashion.com/index.html

Just scroll down a little and you will find it.
